Emily Mattison, Former General Counsel of Illinois Gaming Board, Joins Greenberg Traurig
(PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- Emily A. Mattison has joined the Chicago office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as of counsel in the Global Gaming Practice. She will focus her practice on gaming regulatory compliance, licensure, and corporate counseling. Mattison joins the firm from the Illinois Gaming Board, where she served as general counsel.

Mattison spent five years with the Illinois Gaming Board. During her tenure there, she guided the regulatory approach to an expanding gaming industry in Illinois, drafting practical policies and rules amid shifting legislative constraints. She counseled the Gaming Board on interpretation of Illinois law, disciplinary matters involving licensees, and settlement negotiations. She leverages her prior experience in the Illinois governor’s office as liaison for multiple state agencies, providing advice on state and federal law, policy, regulation, and contract interpretation.
Mattison earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, and her B.A., with honors, from the University of Michigan.
