Matheson Financial Advisors’ 2015 Capital Strategies and M&A Forum Gathers A/E/C Industry Leaders to Discuss Growth and Transition Strategies
McLean, VA (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- Matheson Financial Advisors hosted its 4th annual Capital Strategies and M&A Forum in Chicago, IL, May 11-13th and brought more than 110 A/E/C, Environmental Consulting, and Government Contracting firm leaders and specialist advisors together to discuss current issues and trends in mergers and acquisitions, ownership transition, private equity, ESOPs, and other capital strategies.
During this three day, interactive, panel-driven forum, leaders throughout the industry discussed their experiences and insights on how companies can position and lead their firms toward stronger capitalization and improved shareholder value. Panels included industry leaders from STV, Inc., HDR, Inc., GZA Geoenvironmental, Inc., Trinity Consultants, NV5, Inc. Terracon Consultants, Inc., HOK, Stantec, DLR Group, Alfred Benesch & Company, and many others.
These panels engaged attendees in interactive discussions revolving around topics such as deal financing, M&A integration, ESOPs, building M&A strategies, firm valuation, and private equity. Keynote speakers included Greg Kelly, CEO, Americas of WSP/Parsons Brinckheroff, who told of the journey of Parsons Brinckerhoff from Balfour Beatty ($600 million transaction in 2009) to WSP ($1.3 billion transaction in 2014); Griff Davenport CEO of DLR Group who shared how the ESOP and employee-owned culture helped the company grow from an $8 million revenue firm to a $130 million revenue firm; and Doug McKeown, CEO of Woodard & Curran who spoke about how the company’s independent growth path and ownership transition model drove the firm’s shareholder value and behavior and continues to drive its successful capital strategy. Panels were also led and included specialist advisors from Fox Rothschild, Ames & Gough Insurance, Pilot Hill Advisors, Plante Moran, and Crowe Horwath, among others. Mark Halperin, Managing Editor of Bloomberg Politics, gave an insightful perspective on the upcoming 2016 election, the candidates, and what business leaders can expect.
