‘How to Do Florida’ TV Series Launches Sixth Season of Unique Things to Do in Florida
Lake Mary, FL (PRWEB) May 29, 2015 -- For most residents and visitors, finding more than a few things to do in Florida besides theme parks and beaches is a challenge. Chad Crawford, creator and host of the Emmy award-winning outdoor adventure TV series “How to Do Florida” has found over a hundred…and is still counting.
“There’s no end in sight. There’s no limit on things to do in Florida,” said Crawford. The show has concluded five seasons, with the sixth season premiering June 2015 on broadcast stations across Florida.
“There’s a lot of places we haven’t covered yet- like springs and lighthouses. There’s a lot of ground to cover with all that coastline and interior to explore,” he said.
In past seasons, each 30-minute program features one or two outdoor destinations in a “how-to,” format when host Chad Crawford and an expert teach viewers how to do an outdoor activity. The episode also includes a related cooking segment featuring Fresh From Florida® ingredients. Having already picked a lot of the “low-hanging fruit” of teachable how-tos, Crawford says some of this season’s episodes are a bit different.
“We’re mixing in some adventure-based segments that inform as well as entertain, even highlighting unique people in the state,” he said.
There’s a swamp walk and photography session with Clyde Butcher, Florida’s “Ansel Adams;” and a segment with renowned Florida treasure hunter Gary Drayton. There’s even a tribute to the 1715 Treasure Fleet- the sinking of 11 treasure-laden ships off Florida’s eastern coast.
Several ideas for this year’s segments also came from viewers via the show’s website and Facebook page.
“The segments on monster lobstering (Crawford catches a four-pounder), glamping (‘glamorous’ camping) and rodeoing all came from our viewers,” said Crawford.
Crawford credits the show’s popularity to a combination of good content, high production value and his fun-loving passion for all things Florida.
“‘How to Do Florida’ is much more than a TV show. It’s a movement; a chance to introduce people to the real Florida,” explained Crawford, a third-generation Floridian. “I want people – especially families – to get outdoors, discover the Florida of my youth and learn how to enjoy the awesome adventures I’m sharing with my family.”

In addition, the show’s social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter offer viewers a deeper, more interactive experience to help them discover outdoor activities in Florida.
Currently, season 5 of the “How to Do Florida with Chad Crawford” series can be seen on Fox SunSports.
