LaunchVT, a Vermont startup business plan competition, experienced significant growth in its third year. The growth was fueled by new sponsors and a larger prize pool. The winner, Renoun Ski Company, took home a first prize of $30,000 in cash and $45,000 in in-kind resources. For the first time a second prize was awarded. Punch Pass was awarded $15,000 in cash and $25,000 in in-kind resources.

Designbook, a peer-to-peer marketplace for emerging businesses, partnered in the competition with LaunchVT, providing the platform to host the competition.
According to Emily Piper, LaunchVT’s executive director
“Designbook was able to directly alleviate the pressures that were holding back the competition. Previous platforms provided only half of what Designbook was capable of. Designbook provided the solution for growing our non-profit.”
The Designbook platform has allowed LaunchVT to continue to engage with their applicants, offering an online community that is startup-friendly and easy for startup founders and investors to access The platform will also allow for applicants to continue to grow their businesses and raise funds.
