The Atlanta based Allie Awards organization has awarded its highest honor, the 2015 Bob Blaesing, CSEP Lifetime Achievement Award, to Tents Unlimited CEO and Managing Partner, Dan Nolan, III. An honor established at the inaugural Allie Awards in 1991, this Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed to professionals who have consistently made an impact in the special events industry through innovation and dedication over the course of their career. With a career that started in 1988, Dan’s achievements and business endeavors have spanned both locally and globally and preceding this award, Dan was the recipient of the 2009 Dale Riggins Humanitarian Award, also given by the Allie Awards. Selected as the recipient of this award by the Allie Awards Board of Directors – it’s easy to see why Dan Nolan was a deserving choice for the award during the organization’s 25th anniversary year.

Dan’s career started as a student when he joined the Chattanooga Tent Co. in 1988. In 1994, after graduating from the University of Tennessee with degrees in Human Resources Management and General Business, Dan moved to Atlanta to assist in the operation of a special office newly created for logistical support of the 1996 Olympic Games. In 1997 Dan became President and Managing Partner of Tents Unlimited, Inc. Through his leadership and commitment to excellence, Tents Unlimited has become a leading supplier to many of the nation’s premier events, caterers, event producers and décor specialists.

Throughout the years Dan has founded several other firms related to the special events business. Globally, Dan is partnered with an ownership group from Belgium to provide the US markets big top fabric structures through Epic Tents. Epic primarily services many of the North Americas major music festivals including world renowned US version of TomorrowWorld. Closer to home in Atlanta, Dan, with Arnie Seyden, founded Event Rentals Unlimited, Inc. in 2006 and there are locations in Atlanta and Birmingham. Founded in 2014, Event Flooring Solutions, provides temporary event flooring and coverings and services the industry nationwide. Finally, with his partners, Dan's firms have built an international network of suppliers and wholesalers in the tent and party rental industry, including Europe and Asia to support, supply and design new products.

Dan’s professionalism and determination to bring innovation to the special events industry was definitely a factor in his recognition, but his humanity and generosity helped to tip the scale in his favor. “I’m honored to be recognized for this prestigious award and especially proud of the path that has led me to receiving such an honor,” shares Mr. Nolan. “It’s exciting to be a part of an industry that fuels the economy annually with more than $115 billion in GDP contributions. I look forward to many, many more years of contributing to this industry that I love.”
