Berlin to Host LocWorld – Conference Examines the Internet of Things
BERLIN (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- More than 500 global business executives from 45 countries are expected to attend this summer’s LocWorld in Berlin, June 3-5.
The conference features six tracks with a special focus on how computers are appearing everywhere and how they are communicating.
LocWorld brings together delegates who are engaged in the business of adapting products, services and communications to an international language or culture so as to appear native to that particular region. Speakers at the conference include representatives from Adobe Systems, Canon, eBay, Facebook, Intel, Microsoft, PayPal, Salesforce, SAP and other notable companies.
The conference, produced by MultiLingual Computing, Inc. and The Localization Institute, will be held at the Maritim Hotel Berlin.
Gerd Leonhard, a widely known and top-rated futurist, will deliver the keynote address on June 4. Leonhard is an influential author, keynote speaker and a strategic advisor. He is also the host of TheFutureShow and MeetingOfTheMinds.tv, as well as the founder of GreenFuturists – a high-level group of leading futurists with a focus on developing sustainable business models.
The preconference day will include round tables on sales and marketing, life sciences business and game localization. There will also be an introduction to localization, a forum on localization processes, a track on interoperability standards, sessions on project management and more.
“Our preconference events are great for experienced professionals who want to increase their skills and broaden their knowledge,” says Ulrich Henes, the conference co-organizer and president of The Localization Institute. “We also offer opportunities for those who are just getting started in the industry.”
Attendees may choose from six tracks during the main conference: Global Business, Content Strategy, Advanced Localization Management, Tech, Inside Track, TAUS Track and Unconference.
Some highlighted presentations include:
• The Internet of Things
• Going Global: Why Localization Strategy Should Be a High Priority across the Enterprise

According to Donna Parrish, publisher of the magazine MultiLingual and co-organizer of LocWorld, the event is valuable for people responsible for communicating across the boundaries of language and culture. “Localization is a key component of international business, and LocWorld provides executives with opportunities to learn from leading experts from around the world. They can learn about managing multiple language content, translation tools, quality control, and launching websites and products for multiple languages. It also represents an opportunity to review the best products and services in the exhibit hall.”
