Church of Scientology Community Center Hosts over 300 Community Events to Uplift South Los Angeles Since Opening
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- Since opening in November of 2011 the Church of Scientology Community Center and its Auditorium named after L. Ron Hubbard have hosted over 300 events for the local community. Designed as a meeting ground for people of all denominations and backgrounds in the South LA area, the Center includes classrooms and seminars facilities for a full range of civic programs, including a literacy and tutoring program provided free of charge to the community.
Events at the Community Center have included forums and town hall meetings, graduation celebrations for schools and university students, weddings, events showcasing creativity and musical talent in youth and community wide events to raise awareness on education & literacy, drug prevention and human rights awareness.
The Tutoring Center provides tools for learning and literacy to persons of any age based on discoveries by L. Ron Hubbard in the field of education which have helped students routinely improve by entire grade levels and gain the ability to master any subject they desire to learn.
Working side-by-side with individuals and groups of all denominations on an array of civic programs—from literacy and drug prevention, to human rights awareness and programs to restore the bonds of brotherhood—this Center provides a hub for community improvement.
Available at the facility are over 500 film presentations on L. Ron Hubbard’s life and works and the spectrum of social betterment, humanitarian and community programs sponsored by the center. This includes a worldwide human rights initiative, an equally far-ranging drug education and prevention campaign, literacy and learning programs and the Scientology Volunteer Minister program. The presentations also cover an overview and explanation of Dianetics and Scientology.
