ICC to Hold Annual Musical Summer Camp in June and July
Indianapolis, Ind. (PRWEB) May 27, 2015 -- The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) will hold its annual Choral Festival summer camp in June and July. Choral Fest is for children in grades 3-8 and has two sessions: June 15-19 and July 20-24.
Both sessions are similar in curriculum and include the following activities: Learning songs from a variety of cultures; vocal development in every choral rehearsal; games designed to develop rhythm, music reading, and harmonic skills; drumming, movement, recorder, and Orff Ensemble; performing in a public concert with the ICC.
The cost for each session is $185. Registration and more information is at icchoir.org/summercamp.
The June session culminates in the Choral Festival Concert at Hilbert Circle Theatre on Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m. Young campers – joined by ICC’s regular performing ensembles – will showcase what they have learned over the week from the ICC’s expert artistic staff, including Founder and Artistic Director Henry Leck, Assistant Artistic Director Joshua Pedde, and Director of Education Ruth Dwyer, among others.
Prior to the concert, campers and ICC members will give short previews of the evening’s concert on the steps of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle. During that time, food will be available to purchase from several food trucks on Monument Circle. Tickets to the concert are available to purchase by phone or at icchoir.org/tickets.
The July session will end with a performance at the Indiana State Fair – exact date and time to be determined.
