Bluelounge’s Pixi Puts Zip Ties in Check
Pasadena, California (PRWEB) May 27, 2015 -- For decades, when consumers needed to secure or fasten something, they turned to the zip tie – no longer. Bluelounge today introduces Pixi, an adjustable and reusable multi-purpose tie to bundle and secure anything from accessory cables and cord slack from small appliances, to yoga mats and camping gear.
“During one of our film projects, we were looking for a way to fasten the loose cable slack from our equipment, but with a quick release for when we moved on to the next scene. We tried using zip ties but those required scissors and became cumbersome – then Pixi was born,” said Dominic Symons, Creative Director and Founder of Bluelounge. “We literally 3D printed our first one to try it out and never looked back.”
Pixi is sustainable and can be used over and over again without having to cut or destroy the tie. Each unit has an elastomeric bungee, of various sizes, attached to a button clasp with a channel running down the center. To use Pixi, simply wrap the intended item and stretch the bungee to trap it in the channel. To release, pull the bungee to thin and free if from the locking channel.
Three different size packs accommodate every project imaginable. Small Pixi is intended for cables, earbuds, bread or chip bags and beyond. Medium Pixi works best with appliance slack, sports equipment, music accessories and more. Large Pixi can be used to bundle books, outdoor gear, or any smaller item by looping the extra bungee slack around a few times.
A variety of colors are offered based on the pack selected to help distinguish size. Small packs come in black and grey or orange and blue – 4 of each, medium packs come in black and green – 3 of each, and large packs come in black and red – 2 of each.
