USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals Return to Shreveport-Bossier Area, May 29-31
Benton, Louisiana (PRWEB) May 27, 2015 -- For the third consecutive year, the USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals will be held in the Shreveport-Bossier area. College wakeboarding teams from throughout the U.S. will compete during the 2015 event, May 29-31, at Cypress Black Bayou Park and Recreation Area in Benton, Louisiana. Former X-Games champion wakeboarder and star of MTV’s Nitro Circus, Parks Bonifay, will serve as a celebrity host of events on and off the water. Riding will begin at approximately 9 a.m. each day and last until 6 p.m. Admission is free to spectators, who can view the riders from the beach area at Cypress Black Bayou Park. An awards ceremony is planned for 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 31.
The 2015 USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals are hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission.
“This event has excitement written all over it,” said Kelly Wells, vice president of the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission. “The stunts these competitors perform will leave spectators simply amazed.”
Fans can expect to see individuals and teams from major colleges and universities across the country, including teams from LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State University and Oklahoma State University, among others. New for 2015, the event will also include a pro division with a $7,500 purse. Pro wakeboarders scheduled to take part include Jeff House, Sean O'Brien, Daniel Powers, Alex Graydon and Ben Albright.
