Luis Palau to Preach the Good News in Central Park, July 11
New York City, NY (PRWEB) May 27, 2015 -- International evangelist, Luis Palau, will be the first influential Christian leader in decades to hold a major evangelistic gathering in New York City’s Central Park. The massive NY CityFest with Luis Palau event on July 11th, themed “Good News in the City,” will be the first major Gospel campaign on the Great Lawn since Billy Graham’s 1991 crusade and will include the participation of more than 1,500 local churches.
The NY CityServe & CityFest campaign is turning out to be one of the most far-reaching, evangelistic campaigns New York City has ever seen, including events at Radio City Music Hall, Flushing Meadows, and dozens of others evangelistic events throughout the region. In its trademark festival style, NY CityFest events will proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ while also celebrating the work of a year-long, area-wide service-oriented initiative known as NY CityServe. The culminating festival in Central Park has just announced its lineup of Christian music’s top recording artists for concerts on the Great Lawn, including TobyMac, Mandisa, Matt Redman, Hezekiah Walker, Marcos Witt, Israel Houghton, and many more. Music will be interspersed with celebrity testimonies, including the famed New York Yankee Mariano Rivera, before Luis Palau shares a powerful message of hope. Palau will also make a rare appearance on stage at Radio City Music Hall on July 7th with musical guests Third Day and Newsboys.
While a major event in itself, NY CityFest at Central Park is only one final piece of a six-week sweeping crescendo of NY CityFest events and related outreaches from May 30th-July 11th. Occurring in parks and stadiums, banquet halls and baseball fields, in schools and even in prisons, efforts to blanket the New York City Metro Area with the Good News Gospel will reach every sector of society in every borough. Whether in a regional setting or on the Great Lawn in Central Park, NY CityFest will celebrate Good News in the City -- God’s love expressed to every sector of society by thousands of their Christian neighbors.
Andrew Palau will share his powerful story of redemption at many of the regional festivals, including outdoor concerts, neighborhood basketball tournaments, health services, children’s activities, and high flying stunts from professional BMX athletes. Musical artists helping with these regional events include Andy Mineo, For King & Country, VaShawn Mitchell, Papa San, Group 1 Crew, Crowder, Tercer Cielo, Jaci Velasquez, Jeremy Camp, Danny Gokey, and Gungor.
Millions of New Yorkers will spot the ads on subways, buses, taxis and billboards for “Good News in the City,” as the Palau Association rolls out the largest publicity campaign in the history of the team. Television, radio, and print ads will also help saturate the region with a message of hope. More than one million initiation pieces will also be distributed by local believers door-to-door in the weeks leading up to the festival in Central Park. The complete list of events can be found at http://www.NYCityFest.org.
New York City is America’s most global and strategic city, representing more than 500 people groups and the largest concentration of Latino Americans in the United States. Since 2012, Palau and his team have been working in partnership with the Latino community and hundreds of churches and communities, across ethnic and denominational lines, to launch NY CityServe and demonstrate Christ’s love for every individual. Thousands of lives have been touched in the Tri-State area by the unified, area-wide ministry of ordinary church members who reached out to their neighbors, schools, and communities in extraordinary ways.
