Mom Bloggers Club Helps Mandy Moore and Indrani Goradia Say #MakeItStop to Gender-Based Violence
Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) May 29, 2015 -- Mom Bloggers Club continues to flex one of the largest female blogging communities to help worthy causes.
Mandy Moore uses her star power to shed light on the growing violence against women in the developing world. Mom Bloggers Club helps get the word out to women around the world.
Mandy Moore, an actress, singer, songwriter, Population Services International (PSI) Ambassador and American sweetheart, is visiting Trinidad and Tobago to campaign against gender-based violence with Indrani Goradia, a gender-based violence survivor and founder of Indrani’s Light Foundation. The two teamed up with the Mom Bloggers Club to deliver their message to one of the largest female blogger communities in the world.
Documenting her trip across the region on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #MakeItStop, Moore and Goradia are visiting a shelter for survivors of gender-based violence, addressing students about gender attitudes and visiting a birthing center that incorporates gender-based violence screenings into regular check-ups. Moore even participated in a HIV test to bring awareness to the necessity of testing and to reduce the stigma surrounding it. Women who experience violence are three times more likely to become infected with HIV than those who have not.
“Mom Bloggers Club has become an effective medium for media personalities, nonprofits and large businesses to target their messages into living rooms across America and around the world. It is an honor to serve Mandy and Indrani and help get this very important message out and to continue to support them. Our founder Jennifer James has been directly involved with this cause for almost a decade and her passion is unquenchable,” states Paige White, President of Mom Bloggers Club.
Moore and Goradia are also helping to launch a new program, PSI-Caribbean, which coordinates services with local NGOs specializing in gender violence to make the program more actionable and efficient for abuse victims.
