Inmar to Lead GMA Product Recall Strategy Workshop with GS1 June 23
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) May 29, 2015 -- Inmar, a leader in supply chain technology and optimization solutions, today announced it will team up with GS1 US and the Grocery Manufacturers’ Association (GMA) to conduct a workshop titled “Efficient and Effective Product Recall Management,” June 23, at PepsiCo Inc., in Chicago.
The workshop will explore best practices and strategies for planning, preparing for and executing product recalls.
“In addition to being a significant business disruption, a product recall can be the biggest risk any company may ever face,” said Steve Dollase, president, Inmar Supply Chain Network. “A solid, actively verified strategy makes all the difference in the efficiency and effectiveness with which companies protect consumer safety, manage regulatory risk, protect their brand and minimize business losses through such an event.”
The workshop will leverage Inmar’s extensive experience with managing recalls for some of the world’s largest consumer brands to help companies further develop strategies and stay abreast of the latest industry best practices. This course is an essential educational source that specifically helps manage both communications and logistics of product recalls, including quick and efficient communication with retail customers using the new Rapid Recall ExpressTM form offered by GS1 US.
The workshop will prepare attendees for managing a recall. The discussion will cover system components, obligations to federal and state agencies, customer notification, and product handling and disposition, including steps on how to:
• Manage the decision-making process for initiating a recall
• Define the scope of a recall event
• Develop a company recall strategy
• Integrate the Rapid Recall ExpressTM form into the company's recall event strategy
