The June 9 webinar from Federal Fund Management Advisor will help participants fashion a solid strategy about whether and how to charge federal grant costs for travel, meetings, conferences, training, participant support, and employee health, morale and welfare.

In recent years, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has imposed restrictions on federal agencies by cutting back on their travel and meeting expenses and, filtered some similar restrictions down to federal grant recipients and subrecipients. The June 9 Federal Fund Management Advisor webinar, “Getting Together at Federal Expense,” will help organizations determine whether and how to charge federal grant costs, and how to avoid the appearance of mistreating federal grant funds.

In 60 minutes of presentation followed by 30 minutes devoted to individual questions, Federal Fund Management Advisor Principal Bob Lloyd will discuss the new cost principles for federal awards that were implemented at the end of last year (2 CFR 200, Subpart E), and the numerous revised policies on:

  •     Travel
  •     Meeting expenses, including meals and incidentals
  •     Professional activity costs
  •     Training and education charges
  •     Membership fees
  •     Employee health, morale and welfare costs
  •     Participant support stipends and subsistence
  •     Entertainment
