StatRad, a leading provider of cloud-based medical image sharing and teleradiology services, is pleased to introduce Mr. Chris E. Hafey as its new Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Hafey has a proven track record of leading new development projects and has extensive experience in the healthcare information technology domain. He most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer for OnPoint Medical Diagnostics and previously held the role of Chief Architect for Vital Images.

"I am very excited to join StatRad at this point in the company's development," said Mr. Hafey. "Our focus will be to continue to provide innovative technology aimed at improving the delivery of healthcare. Given StatRad’s long history of success in teleradiology and medical image sharing, there is tremendous opportunity to be a market leader in supporting the evolving uses of medical images."

Dr. Vishal Verma, Chief Executive officer of StatRad commented, "Chris brings strategic, technical, and industry specific experience to StatRad, with a proven track record of innovation – all critical traits in our national search process. StatRad has significant opportunities to leverage the cloud and improve the delivery of healthcare through optimized medical image management and utilization. As a thought leader in this market segment, Chris is ideally suited to support our strategy. This is evidenced already as he and his team roll-out our purely web based image uploader as part of our RadConnect platform."

The new image uploader will be introduced in the RadConnect Software as a service image sharing solution. Previously, uploading images to the cloud involved the downloading of a Java utility, requiring software updates for ever changing security requirements and product enhancements. The Company’s HTML5 utility requires simply selecting the image for upload from a CD or hard drive and clicking an “Upload” button. Images can be stored and shared in the cloud, making CDs no longer necessary.

For a demonstration of the new image uploader, please visit StatRad at Booth #214 during the SIIM 2015 Annual Meeting May 28-30, 2015. Mr. Hafey will have a presence in a number of activities at the conference, including co-leading a Learning Lab discussion, "Build Your Own Zero Footprint Web Viewer" being held in Annapolis 3&4 on Thursday, May 28th from 1:15pm to 3:15pm.
