Greene, Tweed to Present at Oil & Gas Polymer Engineering Texas 2015 Conference
Houston (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- Greene, Tweed announces that it will present a paper at Oil & Gas Polymer Engineering Texas 2015, a new international forum for oil and gas operators, contractors, equipment manufacturers, researchers and industry suppliers. The conference is organized by Applied Market Information LLC (AMI LLC), a leading supplier of plastics consultancy and information services to the global plastics industry.
The event will be held June 9-10 at the Hilton Houston Post Oak in Houston, Texas and aims to examine the latest developments in the use of non-metallic materials in harsh conditions of oil and gas drilling and transportation, including new challenges arising in unconventional gas reservoirs.
On June 9, Greene, Tweed will speak at the HPHT Service session. “Sealing Solution Developments for Enhanced Recovery and Heavy Oil Extraction Service” will be presented by Rick Thoman, Principal Engineer - Oilfield. The paper is co-authored by Ron Campbell, Research Manager, Elastomeric Materials. Discussion topics will include Greene, Tweed’s Chemraz® 694 technology.
Chemraz 694 is a perfluoroelastomer designed for exceptional chemical resistance and best-in-class performance in high-temperature water and saturated steam environments. This includes Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAG-D) and other enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications requiring steam injection. Chemraz 694 can also be utilized in Oilfield applications where sustained high-temperature heat resistance is required.
Greene, Tweed undertook a stringent process to develop a perfluoroelastomer which would retain its physical properties in a steam environment, thus meeting customer requirements for a more reliable sealing solution. Comprehensive testing has shown Chemraz 694 to be the “go-to” solution for critical HPHT environments. Greene, Tweed’s presentation will share testing outcomes and performance results.
In addition to presenting a paper, Greene, Tweed will also have a booth at the conference showcasing its latest advancements in non-metallic materials that are setting a new standard for performance in extreme Oil & Gas environments. In addition to Chemraz 694, Greene, Tweed will provide information on Chemraz® 678, Arlon® 3000 XT and FKM 944.
