New York, NY (PRWEB) May 28, 2015
Resource Furniture and Clei announce sponsorship of the first Make it Right/Fort Peck pre-fab home, which will be on display and open for tours at Dwell on Design 2015, May 29-31 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
As part of the sponsorship, Resource Furniture and Clei have designed a sustainable, multifunctional children’s bedroom, designed for three children to sleep, play, work and relax in comfort. The 154 square foot room features the new Kali Duo Board Bunk Bed with transforming 7-foot desk, the Altea Sofa bed system, both designed and made in Italy by Clei. Also featured are the Giralot storage unit and the Hexa multifunctional table, all perfectly designed to maximize every square inch.
Resource Furniture and Clei are increasingly committed to the support of non-profit organizations that promote healthy, sustainable housing solutions. Toward that end, Clei and Resource Furniture have donated the Kali Duo Board Bunk Bed and the Altea Sofa bed system to an online Make it Right auction, which will take place over the course of the Dwell on Design show May 29-31. The proceeds of the auction will benefit Make it Right. These exceptional-quality bed systems, along with the closet and shelving units, are designed and made in Italy by Clei, the global leader in transforming furniture design and manufacturing for more than 50 years. About the Fort Peck/Make it Right Project
Make It Right is partnering with the Sioux and Assiniboine tribes of Fort Peck, Montana to build sustainable homes on their reservation. The Method Homes-built house on display at Dwell on Design, is one of 20 Cradle to Cradle-inspired, LEED Platinum homes that Make it Right is building for tribe members in need of housing. Overcrowding is a chronic problem on the Fort Peck Reservation where multiple families commonly live together in two bedroom homes, and currently, there are more than 600 people waiting for housing.
The solar-powered homes will have 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms and be available to tribe members whose income levels are at or below 60% of the Area Median Income. A percentage of the homes will be dedicated to senior adult and disabled veteran housing. Homeownership will be structured through a Low Income Housing Tax Credit Rent-to-Own program with ownership transferring to the tenant after 15 years of renting. http://makeitright.org/where-we-work/montana/
