Company’s Motto Comes to Life in Declaring Contest Winner
St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- Capital Resorts Group, a leader in the vacation ownership industry, recently announced Donna Cassell of Benson, North Carolina as the winner of the “Capital Ownerversary Contest” commemorating the company’s first anniversary. For her winning entry, Cassell will receive an eight day, seven night vacation to a Capital Lifestyles℠ property in either Miami or Las Vegas.
In celebration of its first anniversary, Capital Resorts™ wanted to do something special to honor its owners for their loyalty – that’s how it developed the “Capital Ownerversary Contest.” To enter, owners submitted a photo and description of one of their “million perfect moments” captured while vacationing at a Capital Resorts’ destination. The contest was introduced in the February edition of “The Capital Connection,” the company’s monthly owners’ newsletter. Over the next three months, owners from across the United States submitted almost 100 entries. The winner was chosen by a panel of professional judges with a distinguished background in the vacation ownership industry. Cassell submitted her entry to the contest as a tribute to her late daughter-in-law, Kristy. The entry was a photo of Kristy walking arm and arm with her husband of 20 years on the beach one evening in Myrtle Beach during their last vacation together. For the submission Cassell wrote, “It will always be memorable because it was the last time I enjoyed watching my daughter-in-law hunt for shark teeth and give them away to all of the kids who flocked to her. She passed away one month later at the age of 41. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to have her stay with me at the hotel to enjoy her favorite beach in the world.”
When referring to her daughter-in-law, Cassell talked about how beautiful she was inside and out. Cassell said, “She was kind, loving and giving. She had a passion for helping people and you could tell she really cared about them.” Kristy was working at a nursing home caring for the elderly when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

After hearing her submission was chosen as the winner, Cassell said, “When I received news of the contest I wanted to put something out there not for a prize but to honor Kristy's memory – for the world to see a glimpse of her and know what a glorious light our family and the world had lost. I am taking my son, Kristy’s husband, and her two sons on this vacation knowing that she is always with us and one day we will meet again in the sand.”
