We owe our wonderful guests and TripAdvisor reviewers for this great honor. It is the best compliment of all to know that our accommodations and friendly staff have provided each of you with an unforgettable vacation, anniversary, or honeymoon.
Melbourne Beach, Florida (PRWEB) May 30, 2015
Port d’Hiver, a 4 diamond bed and breakfast in Melbourne Beach, Florida today announced that it has been recognized as a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame winner. The Certificate of Excellence award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. The ‘Hall of Fame’ was created to honor those businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years. Winners include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.
“We owe our wonderful guests and TripAdvisor reviewers for this great honor. It is the best compliment of all to know that our accommodations and friendly staff have provided each of you with an unforgettable vacation, anniversary, or honeymoon,” says Linda Rydson, owner of Port d’Hiver. “We love catching up with past guests, meeting new friends, and sharing our historic Melbourne Beach home and unique community with out-of-town travellers and locals, alike. Thank you for your tremendous support over the years.”
Just across Ocean Avenue from the sparkling sea and Ocean Park rests Port d’Hiver – a boutique hotel in Melbourne Beach, Florida nestled amid swaying palms, intimate courtyards, wandering brick paths and flowering bougainvillea. Port d’Hiver is an island within an island, blending comfort and luxury with award winning accommodations, fine dining, warm personal service and thoughtful amenities for romantic Florida getaways.
Port d’Hiver is a piece of paradise discreetly located on the half mile barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. Founded in 1883, Melbourne Beach is the oldest beach town on the Space Coast, full of history and natural beauty. Owners Mike and Linda Rydson bought the 97-year-old home in 2004. Though the home had hardwood floors and beadboard walls, vines wove through the interior and the floors were uneven, with one side of the home being about 4 inches above the other. After three years of renovation and expansion, they opened the doors of their Caribbean-esque, 10-room bed and breakfast called Port d'Hiver in 2007.
"Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years is a remarkable feat. TripAdvisor is pleased to induct five-time award winners into the ‘Hall of Fame’,” said Marc Charron President, TripAdvisor for Business. “By putting a spotlight on businesses that are focused on consistently delivering great service to customers, TripAdvisor not only helps drive an improvement to hospitality standards around the world, it also gives businesses both large and small the ability to shine and stand out from the competition.”
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period as well as business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
