Georgetown University Introduces Sports Industry Management Master’s Program in New Online Format

Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) will launch its third online graduate program in fall 2015 with the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Sports Industry Management (SIM).

Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) will launch its third online graduate program in fall 2015 with the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Sports Industry Management (SIM).

While the industry-leading program is currently offered at the SCS downtown campus, this new online modality provides a flexible learning model that is accessible to a wider audience.

“We are pleased to extend this prominent program to professionals across the country and to expand our online program availability,” said Kelly Otter, Ph.D., Dean of SCS. “This new online graduate curriculum helps us deliver a world-class education to a community of leaders who are moving the global sports industry forward.”

Recognized as one of the top sports programs in the world, Georgetown’s Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management offers a flexible, hands-on curriculum that emphasizes the expanding and ever-changing dynamics within the global sports industry.

“We will incorporate the stimulating, in-depth content and unparalleled faculty expertise that are the hallmarks of our on-campus curriculum into our online courses,” said Bobby Goldwater, Interim Associate Dean of the SIM program. “We look forward to offering an outstanding Georgetown education to engage, inform and inspire sports management students wherever they are.”

Featuring a faculty of prominent industry practitioners who bring noteworthy experience and knowledge directly into the classroom, the program delivers a practical and experiential learning model immersed in a global perspective. All students enrolled in both modalities of the program will take the same core courses, including Applied Ethics in Sports and Sports Leadership and Management.
