Often accountants, especially entry-level accountants, don’t even think about government jobs. But the government is eager to have them—especially millennials.

Accountingfly, the only online job board and networking site centered on careers in accounting from internships through experienced hires, is focused on finding relevant matches for both hiring organizations and job seekers. “We believe finding a great fit between accountants who are looking for jobs and the employers that want to hire them begins with awareness. Understanding the multitude of diverse of career options available is the first step. The topic of our upcoming webinar spotlights a burgeoning opportunity for young accountants,” said Accountingfly CEO Jeff Phillips. “Once you are well informed, you can make a confident decision about what career path is the best fit for you. And that’s an important part of having a fulfilling career.”

On June 4, Chris Lezovich, Program Manager and National Recruiter for the IRS, will discuss some unique aspects of what a position with the government can offer, encouraging job seekers to consider opportunities at the IRS, SEC, and various other agencies. “Often accountants, especially entry-level accountants, don’t even think about government jobs. But the government is eager to have them—especially millennials. The baby boomers are retiring and there are many openings. We think the audience will be very surprised at what they hear,” said Deanna Laird, Accountingfly’s National Director of University Services.

The webinar series will continue throughout the summer with additional unique topics. “We’re building this series with the job seeker in mind – what information will help them be prepared and knowledgeable,” Laird continued. “Another great example is a webinar later in June where Andrew Argue will discuss how to pass the CPA exam in seven months.”

Recordings of each webinar are posted on the Accountingfly YouTube channel. “The content is valuable. We’ve found people coming back to reinforce what they’ve learned,” said Phillips. “We’re all about being relevant to the profession.”
