Atlanta-Owned Beauty App Launches, Bringing Hair and Makeup Services to Your Doorstep

Through an “Uber model,” Atlanta residents and visitors can request a Shaglam “GlamPro” on their mobile device to come to their home, office, or hotel room for salon quality hair and makeup services at the click of a button. All GlamPros are vetted through an extensive interview and training process. They also go through background checks, which ensure both safety and quality. Unlike its competitors, Shaglam is completely personalized to both stylist and clients. Stylists set their own prices and clients can search through the app to find the GlamPro that’s right for them based on their digital portfolio, previous reviews and price.
Shaglam’s concept was born when founder, Raina Gaon, was working as a freelance stylist and found the process of keeping track of all her business transactions, clients’ locations, and appointments to be exceedingly daunting. Raina knew the future of business is mobile, so she set out to create an all-inclusive portal for beauticians to streamline their business, save time and reduce costs – all while making the client experience more pleasant. Further, the app serves as a portal for a beautician’s digital portfolio by showcasing images and client ratings of their work. This helps Shaglam users choose their desired stylist based on their specific offerings and price.

After users download the free app, they will go through a 4-step process to book an appointment by simply choosing their location, appointment time, the service they need and the stylist they want. Shaglam is designed to be user friendly and easily accessible to help out time-deprived women in beauty emergencies. Unique to Shaglam, beauticians can turn on their availability at anytime they are available to “Glammify” someone in need.
“I booked a GlamPro through Shaglam that I had previously gone to before the app launch, but Shaglam made the booking process much easier than calling the salon,” says Debby Dermer, beta test user of the app. “Through the app’s notification process, I knew when my stylist was nearby allowing me to be ready as soon as my GlamPro arrived. The service was quick, comfortable and my blowout was just the extra touch I needed for my daughter’s graduation party.”
Shaglam is now available for iOS and Android with service exclusively in the Atlanta market. Desktop bookings from Shaglam.com and additional metropolitan areas will be added in the near future. Currently, the app offers blowouts, custom updos and makeup services at a rate set by each individual beautician.
