New York O2 breathe Walk for Pulmonary Hypertension at South Street Seaport on Sunday May 31, 2015

What: O2 breathe Walk to raise funds and awareness to fight pulmonary hypertension (PH.) Hundreds of patients, caregivers, family, friends, medical professionals and corporate partners will walk together in honor and in memory of those whose lives have been touched by PH.
Highlight: A live performance by singer/songwriter Chloe Temtchine, who has PH and performs using an oxygen tank, which she affectionately calls Steve Martin. Ms. Temtchine will perform several songs, including PHA’s anthem, which she wrote, entitled “Be Brave.”
Who: Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA.) PHA’s mission is to find ways to prevent and cure pulmonary hypertension, and to provide hope for the pulmonary hypertension community through support, education, advocacy and awareness. For twelve consecutive years, PHA has received the highest possible rating-4 stars-for fiscal accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator, placing PHA in the top 1% of all rated charities.
Why: To raise funds and awareness to fight pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is high blood pressure in the vessels of the lungs and can lead to heart failure. There is no cure. In 1985 patients had a 50% chance of surviving 2.8 years past date of diagnosis but, thanks to new treatments, prognosis is improving.
Who Should Attend: PH patients, caregivers, family, friends, medical professionals, corporate community and all who would like to fight pulmonary hypertension. There is no cost to participate.
