MilitaryConnection.com Announces Media Sponsorship With the American Freedom Foundation
Simi Valley, CA (PRWEB) June 03, 2015 -- MilitaryConnection.com, one of the most comprehensive directories of resources and information for active duty military, Veterans and their families, is proud to announce its alliance with the American Freedom Foundation (AFF). AFF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that honors, serves and supports Veterans, military service members, and their families. They do so by creating awareness of and building support for their service, sacrifices and needs, through partnerships with military focused organizations.
Founded in 2004 by SMA (Ret.) Jack L. Tilley and Ted Hacker, the foundation has made grants in excess of $1.1 million, to more than 30 military organizations. They have also awarded more than 950 academic scholarships, valued in excess of $11.5 million, to military and Veteran spouses and their dependents in 49 states, 8 countries and at/near 200 military installations. In addition, thousands of Veterans have been connected to hundreds of participating companies for civilian employment opportunities through the AFF National Veterans Employment Initiative program, Warriors To The Workforce.
MilitaryConnection.com CEO Debbie Gregory had the opportunity to attend AFF’s most recent event, the American Freedom Festival, a fundraiser aboard the USS Midway, featuring a concert performance by Wynonna. “This was my first time seeing Wynona perform, and she was wonderful! But more importantly, I appreciate her patriotism,” said Ms. Gregory. “Her engagement with the military audience was uplifting.”
One of Wynonna’s first performances with her mom, Naomi, was a 1983 Veterans wall dedication with Bob Hope. She has said that country music has always had a strong connection to the military. AFF’s next event will be Warriors to the Workforce Huntsville, August 11 - 12, 2015 in Huntsville, AL. This hiring event is part of AFF’s nationwide initiative to get Veterans working. Veterans, service members and spouses may attend at no charge. Exhibitor opportunities are available until August 13th.
