SAE International’s book, “Theory and Application of Aerodynamics for Ground Vehicles,” is honored with an Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Benjamin Franklin Award. The book won a Silver Award in the Professional & Technical category.

SAE International’s book, “Theory and Application of Aerodynamics for Ground Vehicles,” is honored with an Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Benjamin Franklin Award. The book won a Silver Award in the Professional & Technical category.

The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards recognizes excellence in book editorial and design, and are regarded as some of the highest national honors for independent publishers and self-published authors. The awards are administered by IBPA with help from more than 150 book publishing professionals including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, publicity managers, and editors. Competition in each of the fifty-five categories ranges between 30 and 100 entries.

Theory and Applications of Aerodynamics for Ground Vehicles” provides an introduction to ground vehicle aerodynamics and methodically guides the reader through the various aspects of the subject.

Authored by T. Yomi Obidi, the book is excellent for those needing specific information or a refresher on the subject with, various vehicle types being touched upon. However, the book is focused on cars and trucks, which are the most common vehicles in the speed range in which the study of aerodynamics is beneficial.
