Electronic Verification Systems (EVS) is excited to announce a new client, CARS Protection Plus, which offers comprehensive vehicle service contracts in a wide variety of coverage. In March 2015, the company implemented IdentiFraud Consumer with a focus on knowledge-based authentication (KBA).

“Offering an electronic version of our contracts was delayed for months as we searched for a means by which we could positively identify the consumer and finalize our agreement with them. IdentiFraud Consumer from EVS was the clear choice, offering the highest level of fraud prevention”, said Rick Tudor, Director of Operations for CARS Protection Plus.

EVS is instrumental in the CARS Protection Plus sales process; after customers complete an online application, he or she is provided with a contract, which is signed by answering KBA questions. If the questions are answered accurately a digital signature is placed on the document.

“Working with CARS Protection Plus is an absolute delight,” Eric Knapp, EVS EVP Client Development, said. “I am looking forward to growing our business relationship and offering them industry leading fraud prevention products for years to come!”

CARS Protection Plus is proactive in their fraud prevention efforts, compared to the experience customers may have at more traditional auto dealerships, where his or her driver’s license is copied and a credit report is conducted. However, the traditional method can allow a fraudster to impersonate someone and potentially purchase a car under that identity.

“By implementing EVS Fraud prevention and KBA products, CARS Protection Plus will know exactly who is executing their contracts,” said Knapp. “Not only the vehicle contract industry, but any industry that can incur fraud losses should implement a KBA product into their program.”
