ETA Appoints Bryan Allen as Vice President
Greencastle, IN (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- ETA® International is a not-for-profit trade association which fosters excellence among professionals dedicated to the electronics industry. Bryan Allen, CSM, CSS, of Greencastle, IN, has promoted ETA® International with the highest standards of excellence for 12 years and recently accepted the added responsibility to serve as vice president.
“ETA International is fortunate to be able to move Bryan Allen into the position of Vice President of the organization,” said ETA President Teresa Maher, CSS.
“Along with the blessings of the ETA Board of Directors and ETA Founder, Richard ‘Dick’ Glass, this move offers an opportunity for growth to Bryan, while at the same time providing additional leadership for ETA,” said Maher. “Bryan has served in a number of leadership roles for the past five years and this promotion is a well-deserved recognition of the vital part he plays in growing the association.”
Allen started with ETA as webmaster and media specialist. He quickly took on the added responsibilities of ETA’s new media director and editor of ETA’s bi-monthly news magazine while he earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis. For the last five years, Allen has supervised ETA employees as office manager while continuing to serve as new media director.
His MBA and experience with business policies and practices, as well as his longtime work with certification, will go a long way to build the association from the excellent foundation that now exists, which also made him a good choice for this leadership position.
“I am excited for the opportunity to serve ETA in the role of Vice President. ETA is doing great things in the electronics and electronics-related industries, and after 12 years with the association, I am ready to play an even bigger part in that work,” ETA Vice President Bryan Allen, CSM, CSS, said.
ETA International members are professionals in many different technical fields such as Fiber Optics, Wireless Communications, Smart Home, Renewable Energy, Information Technology and Industrial Electronics. With years of industry experience, ETA welcomes Michael J. Taylor, CSS, of Greenfield, IN, as Director of Business Development.
“With roots in the Greencastle area, Mike brings decades of experience in telecommunications and will also contribute to the certification organization with his 41 years of military involvement,” said Maher.
Retired from the military career and his at&t career, he continues to train future at&t U-verse technicians. Hitting the ground running at ETA, Taylor has already met with an ITT Technical Institute advisory board in Indianapolis as well as attended a National Guard conference in Washington, DC on behalf of ETA.
“I believe continuing education, with non-vendor specific certification, is very important in today’s environment. It provides hiring managers with candidates that have recognized professional credentials with validated technical skills, regardless of their individual background or training,” said Taylor.
ETA currently offers ‘stand-alone’ and ‘journeyman’ technical career path certifications for more than 80 certification programs, all in STEM and electronics related fields, and is accredited by the International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC) and align with the ISO-17024 standard.
Since 1978, ETA has issued over 170,000 professional certifications. Widely recognized and frequently used in worker job selection, hiring processes, pay increases, and advancements, ETA certifications are often required as companies bid on contracts. ETA’s certifications are personal and travel with the individual, regardless of employment or status change and measure competencies of persons, not products or vendors.
