Steve Landers, MD, MPH, President and CEO of VNA Health Group Appointed to VNAA Board of Directors
Red Bank, New Jersey (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group, New Jersey’s largest nonprofit provider of home health care, hospice and community services, announced today the appointment of its President and CEO, Steve Landers, MD, MPH, to the Visiting Nurse Associations of America's (VNAA) Board of Directors.
VNAA is a national association based in Arlington, VA, that supports, promotes and advances mission driven, nonprofit providers of home and community-based healthcare, hospice and health promotion services to ensure quality care for their communities. In April, VNAA voted to approve six new Board of Directors members during its 33rd Annual Meeting. Among the appointment of Dr. Landers to the Board of Directors, are five other members representing a variety of nonprofit home-based care provider and healthcare industry partners.
"VNAA is proud to welcome this dynamic group to the Board of Directors. They were selected for their innovative leadership and expertise at their own organizations and for a commitment to advancing home-based care as a driving force in population health," said Tracey Moorhead, President and CEO, VNAA. "We look forward to integrating these new members with our new slate of Board officers and setting a strategic vision to continue the organization's mission to support, promote and advance nonprofit providers of community-based healthcare."
Dr. Landers, who was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of VNA Health Group in 2012, is currently serving as the first physician CEO of the second largest nonprofit Visiting Nurse Association in the nation. He has extensive experience leading organizational changes and innovations that strengthen health care delivery and improve value. His history of success at Cleveland Clinic and VNA Health Group as evidenced by improved quality of care, market relevance, employee engagement, and cost efficiency will allow him to contribute targeted and comprehensive guidance to VNAA. Prior to joining VNA Health Group, Dr. Landers served as the Director of the Center for Home Care and Community Rehabilitation and Director of Post-Acute Operations for the Cleveland Clinic. In 2014, Dr. Landers received the NJBiz 40 Under 40 Award, a recognition of New Jersey’s most accomplished young businessmen and women.
“Thank you to the VNAA membership for welcoming me to your Board of Directors,” said Dr. Landers. “I stand united and eager in your mission to provide cost-effective and compassionate care to some of the nation's most vulnerable individuals. With a strong emphasis on house calls and specialized interest in geriatric medicine, home health, hospice and palliative care, I look forward to continuing my commitment to advancing home-based care by supporting the progress and evolvement of your strategic vision.”
