New Jersey Institute of Technology selects Vivantech’s cloud-based Ekualiti™ KC for research and grants management
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 03, 2015 -- Vivantech, a leader in consulting and development of enterprise grade, open-source and commercial software for higher education and research institutions has announced that the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has selected the cloud-based Ekualiti KC electronic research administration (eRA) solution to manage its research and grant administration.
One of the nation’s leading public polytechnic universities, NJIT prepares students to be leaders in the technology-dependent economy of the 21st century. NJIT is a world-class technology research university with research clusters that include life science and engineering, sustainable systems, data science and IT, as well as transdisciplinary areas. The institution reported over $110 million in research expenditures in 2014.
Ekualiti KC will move NJIT from paper-based processes to an integrated, web-based research administration system that supports the full life-cycle of grant proposal, award management, and compliance. As part of the Ekualiti KC implementation at NJIT, systems integrations with the NJIT Banner Finance and HR systems will provide a robust solution to also manage post-award financial and personnel related activities at their institution.
"Ekualiti KC has many features that we are interested in for proposal submission and grant management,” said Dr. Atam Dhawan, Interim Vice Provost for Research and Development, NJIT. “The user-interface looks great. Planning and support services from Vivantech staff are excellent. We believe that this product will provide streamlined user-friendly support to our research enterprise."
Vivantech created Ekualiti KC in response to the need for an affordable, comprehensive eRA solution that is quick to deploy, highly-scalable, and easy to use and navigate.
David Ullman, Associate Provost for Information Services & Technology and CIO of NJIT said, “We look forward to becoming true partners in the next evolution of Kuali Coeus, and in establishing the brand that will be known best as Ekualiti KC.”
Ekualiti KC is based on Kuali software and built on the Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) platform. It can be deployed via the AWS cloud, or in a private cloud option through Red Hat's OpenShift™ technology. Ekualiti SaaS offerings also include Ekualiti Rice with Visual Workflow for business process automation.
“We’re pleased to provide NJIT with Ekualiti KC, which will give their Office of Sponsored Research Administration much greater flexibility and improve their performance,” said Randy Ozden, CEO of Vivantech. “The partnership with the NJIT team will enable us to shape Ekualiti KC’s future roadmap and further simplify the end-to-end research and grants management and reporting process.”
NJIT joins a growing list of institutions that are implementing Ekualiti KC to automate research and grants processes so that they can apply a greater amount of time and effort toward groundbreaking research endeavors.
