Former CIO of the Year, Edward Marx, to Provide Keynote Presentation at Corepoint Health User Conference
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- One of healthcare’s leading chief information officers, Edward Marx, will speak at Corepoint Connect 15, Corepoint Health’s fourth-annual user conference, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in Plano, Texas. Marx is currently the executive vice president at the Advisory Board Company and chief information officer at NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation.
While Marx was the CIO at Texas Health Resources he was named the 2013 HIMSS/CHIME CIO of the Year. Marx left Texas Health Resources in April 2015.
Corepoint Connect 2015 will be held at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center and will include training sessions on the industry-leading Corepoint Integration Engine, health information exchange, HL7 FHIR, and will feature presentations from customers who have achieved interoperability success at their organizations.
Marx will speak to an audience comprised primarily of healthcare information technology professionals about overcoming personal limitations to realize that “average” and “ordinary” individuals can achieve greatness, which happens to be the topic of his book, "Extraordinary Tales from a Rather Ordinary Guy," published in 2014.
“Most people I meet have accepted their lives as they are and have given up hope of achieving the extraordinary. I come from humble beginnings, I do not have a superior intellect and I do not consider myself special by any means,” Marx said. “I've come to the conclusion that there really is no formula for success, yet I will share some ground rules that I have used as a guide that I believe can have a positive impact on everyone's journey through life.”
