Photo-Eyewear™ Changes Name to PogoTec™ and Announces Three Divisions
Roanoke, Virginia (PRWEB) June 03, 2015 -- Photo-Eyewear™ ( http://www.PhotoEyewear.com) announced that it has officially changed its name to PogoTec™, Inc. ( http://www.PogoTec.com) to better reflect the depth and breadth of its electronic wearable device products and technologies it is developing and plans to commercialize.
Through the creation of three business divisions, PogoTec™ will provide focused resources to drive key areas associated with electronic wearable devices as follows:
• On-Track™ – There are well over 2 Billion pairs of prescription and non-prescription eyewear in use globally and approximately 300 Million new pairs sold every year. Eyewear represents the best platform for attaching electronic wearable devices because of its close proximity to one’s hearing, sight, smell, intelligence, taste, and voice. On-Track™ has invented and developed a proprietary track that for the first time provides the ability to attach electronic wearable devices (such as a camera, sensors, hearing aids, etc.) to prescription and non-prescription eyeglass frames in a cosmetically acceptable manner, which preserves the style and fashion integrity of the frames. On-Track™ is positioning itself to become the standard electronic wearable technology platform for the optical industry.
• Look & Shoot™ - This division has been established to develop, license and/or commercialize a very small proprietary camera that can attach to eyewear via the On-Track™ platform. The picture and video quality of the Look & Shoot™ camera is targeted to be comparable to the iPhone 6 and images/videos and can be wirelessly transferred to cloud-based photo galleries for editing, sharing, and storage. And because Look & Shoot™ is stored on the eyeglass temple, it’s easy to use, mostly hands-free, can be slid out of sight when not being used and then quickly positioned forward when needed. And most importantly, there is nothing between you and the image you’re trying to capture. Look & Shoot™ is not limited to the eyewear market. There are other significant market applications, including, the markets of law enforcement and security, sports, vehicles, various occupations, consumer markets and more.
• Pogo-Power™ (Mobile Wireless Power.…Anywhere and Everywhere™)– This division was established to develop, license and / or commercialize a proprietary “truly mobile” wireless power transfer system that allows most mobile electronic wearable devices to be wirelessly powered without the need of a stationary transmitter and / or receiver. The proprietary solution is fully mobile and can be used in most any location or environment to power electronic wearable devices, as well as enable the downloading and uploading of data to the cloud. Pogo-Power’s™ “truly mobile” wireless power transfer system should have the ability to reduce the form factor and weight of most electronic wearable devices.
“We started our original development in pursuit of a very small camera for eyewear and the development effort has taken us far beyond anyone’s expectations,” stated Ron Blum, President of PogoTec™. “We’ve ended up with three major proprietary offerings; an ultra-compact camera, smaller in all dimensions than the diameter of a dime; a first-ever eyewear mounting system that allows electronic wearable devices to be attached to eyewear without affecting the style or fashion look; and a personal truly mobile wireless power transfer system that will assist in powering most wearable electronic devices. And as you would expect, we have been very active and diligent filing patent applications that should protect our current and future inventions.”
The wearable electronic device market is projected to grow at a five-year compounded rate of 45.1%, reaching 126.1 million units in 2019. This market is being fueled in part by recent product introductions such as the Apple Watch and Fitbit, as well as Millennials coming of age. Millennials are projected to surpass baby boomers in spending power by 2018.
“Electronic wearable devices represent a huge, hot market that is forecasted to grow significantly over the next 5 years,” said Read Ziegler, Managing Partner of Vantedge Group (http://www.vantedgegroup.com) and a PogoTec™ Board Member. PogoTec™ is being positioned to take full advantage of this growth with proprietary innovative solutions that turn market promise into reality.”
Look & Shoot™ is PogoTec’s™ first electronic wearable device being developed. During 2015, it is estimated that over 1 trillion photos will be taken around the world. Look & Shoot’s™ mostly hands-free capabilities, extremely small form factor and always ready status, make it a perfect way to capture high quality photos and videos of life’s most important moments and activities.
