Shaw Donates Flooring to Make It Right Fort Peck Reservation Homes
Dalton, Ga. (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- Shaw Industries has donated hardwood and tile flooring for Make It Right’s 20 Fort Peck Reservation Homes. Make It Right is partnering with the Sioux and Assiniboine tribes of Fort Peck, Montana to build sustainable homes on their reservation. The solar-powered homes will be available to tribe members whose income levels are at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income. A percentage of the homes will be dedicated to senior adult and disabled veteran housing.
The first of these Cradle to Cradle-inspired, LEED homes was showcased at Dwell on Design May 29-31 in Los Angeles. Shaw Floors’ Epic engineered hardwood in style Meridian and Lunar porcelain tile in color Noce were used throughout.
This latest initiative builds on the long-term partnership between Shaw and Make It Right, which includes building over one hundred homes in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, La. after Hurricane Katrina and redeveloping Bancroft School in Kansas City, Mo. to provide housing and a community center to 150 residents.
