New Comprehensive Vision Plan for MOAA Members
Alexandria, Va. (PRWEB) June 02, 2015 -- The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) has introduced a new vision insurance plan through MetLife that includes more than the general vision coverage provided by TRICARE. Members can benefit from a large network of participating providers and savings on eye exams and glasses or contact lenses.
MOAA members, spouses and dependent children under age 26 are eligible for coverage. Those who enroll in the MOAA vision insurance plan will have many vision care options and may choose from a variety of eyewear selections, including classic to designer style frames and lens preferences such as scratch-resistant coating or contact lenses.

“Our members have expressed to us how important vision coverage is for themselves and their families,” said retired Navy Vice Adm. Norb Ryan Jr., president and CEO of MOAA. “We are truly privileged to work with outstanding partners. This is an added valuable benefit that allows MOAA to fill another need and gap in health care insurance programs for our members.”
“General vision coverage for TRICARE beneficiaries covers eye exams for some, but there is no coverage or discounts for eyewear. And nowadays, many employers only offer a vision plan with limited discounts,” said retired Air Force Col. Cherie Zadlo, director of MOAA’s Member Products and Services Department. “We are proud to expand the world-class products and services — insurance, finance, travel and other discounts — we offer to our members.”
Members may continue to see their current eye doctor or receive more savings and reduced out-of-pocket expenses by selecting one of the thousands of private-practice optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians, as well as top retail optical providers, in the plan’s network.
Since 1981, MOAA has worked with Mercer Consumer, a service of Mercer Health & Benefits Administration LLC, to administer group insurance plans. MOAA members benefit from this partnership through access to a wide variety of excellent insurance products at economical rates.
