King of Prussia, PA (PRWEB) June 03, 2015
The Pension Company (TPC) today announced that two structured settlement consultants with extensive industry experience have joined the company, one of whom is building TPC’s West Coast presence. James J. Brady, who has opened offices in both Irvine and Beverly Hills, CA, joins TPC from Ringler Associates. During his tenure with Ringler, Jim chaired the Leadership Team, served as a Regional Director and also served on Ringler’s Board of Directors. Thomas D. Walsh, who co-founded one of the industry’s first companies, will split his time between offices in Colorado and Washington, DC.
Jim Brady handles a variety of claims that span industries including commercial construction, railroad, product liability, medical malpractice and employment. He and his colleagues also have a robust practice in worker’s compensation claims. Jim is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) and holds the CSSC (Certified Structured Settlement Consultant) designation from the University of Notre Dame.
He holds a law degree from the American College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and History from Cal State Fullerton. Jim’s colleague, Monique Dean, also is working with him in their Irvine and Beverly Hills offices. Monique brings over 22 years’ experience in the industry as both a consultant and technical advisor. She has expertise in present-value claims analysis, life care plans and negotiations arising from medical malpractice, workers compensation, general liability and Medicare set-asides (MSAs). She also has expertise in working with clients on issues related to Social Security offsets.
Tom Walsh, who also has joined TPC, has opened an office in Steamboat Springs, CO but plans to split his time between the offices in Colorado and Washington, DC office. Tom has played a pioneering role in the structured settlement industry dating to the early 1980’s, when he and TPC President John Machir co-founded JMW Settlements in Washington DC. At JMW, Tom helped develop the use of Reversionary Medical Trusts for Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) cases for the United States Government. Following his tenure at JMW Settlements, Tom joined Settlement Planning Associates (SPA), which merged with Mesirow Financial in 2006, as a Senior Vice President.. Tom’s work focuses on negotiating claims associated with complex personal injury lawsuits, with an emphasis on claims arising from environmental liability. He has been qualified in more than 15 states as an expert economist and annuitist, and frequently serves as an expert witness in environmental and personal injury litigation. Tom received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Georgetown University, where he also lectured in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. He holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
Frank Pension, TPC Chairman, said “We are delighted that Jim and Tom have decided to join our team of professionals. Their combined extensive experience, and decades of success, are assets that we believe will enhance the spectrum of services we offer our clients.”
