Newnan, GA (PRWEB) June 05, 2015 -- CMP announced this month the retirement of one of the company’s founders Dr. Charles Li. Dr. Li will continue his involvement at CMP as an on-going member of the CMP Board of Directors. He will also maintain an advisory role to Dr. William Drury, who will continue in his role as company Chief Executive Officer.
“Charles was such a great friend and business partner for over twenty years that I really appreciate his continued participation in the company,” says Dr. William Drury, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, “Few people realize what a remarkable life story he has and I am quite sure he will have some very interesting personal plans for the future.”
After graduating from Georgia Tech with a doctorate in Polymer Engineering, Dr. Li headed CMP engineering and manufacturing efforts. He participated in leadership of nearly every aspect of CMP operation for over twenty years. His technical knowledge, determination and unwavering commitment were major factors contributing to the substantial growth of CMP in the recreational water industry.
The executive leadership team, managers and company staff at CMP had the opportunity to show their appreciation at a series of company events in May, 2015. “It has been a privilege leading CMP for so many years,” Dr. Li expressed to CMP staff at his retirement announcement. “I am very confident that the executive leadership will continue to grow the company even faster in the coming years. I believe that CMP has an excellent leadership team and will expand even faster in the future than it has the past twenty years."
During Dr. Li’s tenure, CMP achieved multiple successes including: Expansion to distribution across the United States and Internationally; Growth and innovation of product lines in the Pool, Spa and Bath Industry; Multiple corporate awards for customer service and logistical excellence; In 2013, opening a new manufacturing facility in Newnan, Georgia.
