ROBRADY Design Builds a Better World with Four Green Good Design Awards
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Internationally renowned ROBRADY design studio garnered four Green Good Design awards for submissions ranging from a human powered exoskeleton to an energy efficient cookstove for developing countries. The awards, presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in association with the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, represent the best examples of sustainable and environmental products and architectural design.
“We strive to humanize technology,” says ROBRADY CEO and Design Director, Rob Brady. “Not just for the individual but the global community and these awards are affirmations that we’re hitting the mark.”
ROBRADY’s four submissions were varied but each met the criteria for sustainable environmental design and received accolades:
The FORTIS Exoskeleton
ROBRADY design teamed with Lockheed Martin, the forerunner in exoskeleton technology, to deliver a lightweight, human-powered suit. Retooled and ready for the industrial marketplace, this cutting-edge technology dramatically enhances worker endurance and strength.
The Envirofit Cookstove
Addressing serious concerns of safety and efficiency, the design collaboration between Envirofit and ROBRADY resulted in a high-quality, emission-free stove that performs in the rugged terrain of developing countries with reduced use of natural resources.
The Merlin Fuel Cell
ROBRADY and sister company ARMORIT designed the Merlin Fuel Cell enclosure to be a ruggedized power source that can go where other power sources can’t and function without causing additional damage to already compromised environments such as disaster areas. The fuel cell also garnered an international Red Dot Design award in 2014.
The Merlin Solar Tracker
Designed by ROBRADY and sister company ARMORIT, the innovative tracker is a fast-deployable power source that can be set up by one person without tools. Like the Fuel Cell, the Tracker is designed for robust environments with sensors that automatically adjust to maintain optimal positioning and avoid wind damage, yielding increased power output (up to 40% in some conditions).
For over two decades, ROBRADY design has worked with clients to take their ideas from research to reality, delivering results that make a positive impact on the environment as well as the marketplace.
