The world's largest travel website, Trip Advisor awards the Certificate of Excellence only to those destinations that consistently receive great reviews from travelers who share their experiences on the site.
The Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, ranks high with the vast majority of those who review it on the site—more than 1,500 travelers to date—with an overall rating of five out of five “bubbles.” Bruce Eldredge, the Center’s Executive Director and CEO, notes, “This award of excellence is a testament to our dedication in offering the best experience about the American West possible.” He adds, “Visitors rating their experiences with us have uniformly recognize us as one of the finest museums in the world.”
The Center is comprised of five museums—the Buffalo Bill Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Draper Natural History Museum, and Cody Firearms Museum—which together tell the in-depth story of the American West’s history, culture, art, and nature from historic to contemporary times. Some visitors with specific interests review a museum or two individually.
“The Center of the West as a whole is ranked on Trip Advisor as the number one ‘thing to do’ in Cody,” notes Bruce Sauers, Director of Revenue who also oversees Admissions at the Center. “Our Cody Firearms Museum is ranked number two, and our Plains Indian Museum is ranked number five,” he adds. Admission to the Center includes entrance to all five museums, and is good for two consecutive days.
Marc Charron, President of Trip Advisor for Business, says, “For five years, Trip Advisor has shared the Certificate of Excellence award on behalf of travelers across the globe. All of our winners can be proud to be recognized by customers as some of the very best in the business.” Eldredge says, “I would like to thank our contributors for supporting us, and our staff for their work with our visitors. Without them, achieving this award would not be possible.”
