Q-Card Company Develops New Card Testing Fixtures to Meet Worldwide Standard

Three new card testing fixtures are designed to ensure compliance with MasterCard CQM (Card Quality Management) and ISO/IEC quality programs.
As more card issuers make the transition from magnetic stripe cards to smart cards, the need for quality control, interoperability and reliability grows. MasterCard has developed robust standards over the past couple years that guide the interoperability and performance of chip-based payment solutions across the globe. These standards set the bar for card quality characteristics, including bending stiffness, resistance to heat, mechanical robustness and service life.
Q-Card’s three new models of test equipment address several key areas of the MasterCard CQM standards. The Bending Stiffness test fixture performs physical bending tests on cards. A Resistance to Heat test fixture measures physical deformation of cards when exposed to climatic conditions over time. The third product, a Card Wrapping test fixture, applies bending stress to the chip modules to check their gluing resistance.
