Senior Principal Louis Brownstone named to Annual 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders List

A huge part of personal growth at Keystone is just being able to work with and learn from very intelligent and experienced individuals on a daily basis

Louis Brownstone has been named as an emerging industry leader on the 2015 M&A Advisor 40 Under 40 list. Brownstone is a Senior Principal The Keystone Group, a Chicago-based consultancy with a focus on creating value for clients across multiple industries. Brownstone was honored in the Service Professional Category.

Brownstone has been with Keystone for a majority of his career. “We are so pleased to have Louis on our team, and to see both his achievements and his potential honored among our peers in the M&A arena,” said Keystone Managing Director Andy Rolfe. “We’ve seen what he can achieve. Now everyone knows how consistently Louis delivers value to his Keystone clients.

Brownstone joined the firm with prior independent consulting experience with Tata Teleservices in India and Basak Emeklik in Turkey. He is a 2003 graduate of Indiana University, where he completed his B.S. in Finance. Brownstone said he joined Keystone because he wanted the benefits of a growing boutique consultancy where a hands-on, client-oriented approach is a good fit with the interesting work he loves.

“The majority of learning at Keystone is through experiences on projects, and Keystone gives you the opportunity to learn well beyond your years,” said Brownstone, who credits Rolfe and his Keystone colleagues with advancing his success. “A huge part of personal growth at Keystone is just being able to work with and learn from very intelligent and experienced individuals on a daily basis.”

Brownstone also said his youth development work in Tanzania, made possible through the international AIESEC organization, refined his understanding of the contributions that young professionals must make and helped to create the professional passion that drives Brownstone to make a difference at Keystone.

“I’m grateful for the 40 Under 40 recognition, but it really serves to remind me of how much more there is for young professionals to do in seeking to impact and improve our communities,” Brownstone said.

The M&A 40 Under 40 Awards began in 2010, according to David Fergusson, president and co-CEO of the M&A Advisor. “We initiated the awards to recognize high achieving young women and men in our industries of M&A, financing and restructuring,” he said. The awards will be celebrated at a June 29 Summit held at the Steelcase Penthouse on Columbus Circle in New York City.
