Gifting Grants Will Offer Active Military, Veterans, Police, Fire Fighters, Nurses and Teachers Home Buying Education & Grant Money for Closing Costs
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND (PRWEB) June 26, 2015 -- A local Baltimore organization is rallying to support our community heroes (Active Military, Veterans, Fire Fighters, Police, Nurses and Teachers) by establishing a non-profit to provide home buying education, assistance and grant money to help these incredible community heroes achieve the dream of home ownership.
Gifting Grants is awaiting its official non-profit designation and will then begin on their mission to provide qualified homebuyers with invaluable education about the home buying process, as well as customized solutions for purchasing a home in the most cost effective way. In addition, Gifting Grants will be providing these home buyers with free grant money* to be used towards payment of their closing costs.
“What the average consumer doesn’t realize is that there are many programs available right now that would allow them to purchase homes with little to no money up front. It is also possible to eliminate most, and in some cases, ALL closing costs by leveraging our vendor relationships and our grant program. It is our goal to provide these home buyers with the knowledge, tools and resources available to get them into a home. It’s our way of giving back to our community leaders and saying thank you for all you do,” says Christine Weithman, Gifting Grants Grant Coordinator.
Once accepted into the Gifting Grants program, each hero will be assigned a certified Housing Specialist who will develop a personalized home-buying plan tailored to fit their specific needs. Gifting Grants will then connect the home buyer with their network of trusted industry professionals, who will be able to assist the home buyer with their real estate search, lending options, as well as title and settlement services, all focused on helping the buyer reduce the costs associated with purchasing their home. In addition to this savings, Gifting Grants will award available grant money to be used towards the remainder of the buyer’s closing costs. It is our hope that with a little bit of support, we will be able to help get these community heroes into a home they may not have otherwise been able to purchase on their own.
Former Lt. Col. of Baltimore City Police Department, Michael Andrew, attests to the program's success, "I have personally used this program for two of my own refinance transactions and am so appreciative of the education I received regarding the process, as well as the assistance I received in eliminating my closing costs. I didn't even know that was a possibility! Now that this program is being offered on purchase transactions as well, I think it will significantly impact people's ability to purchase a home."
