PinMart Collaborates with Gene Siskel Film Center to Honor Mark Ruffalo with "Thumbs Up" Lapel Pins
(PRWEB) July 07, 2015 -- This month, PinMart played a role in honoring actor and philanthropist Mark Ruffalo at the Gene Siskel Film Center, where Ruffalo received the center's Renaissance Award. The award celebrates the actor's impressive and varied career, with recent Oscar and SAG nods for roles in movies like "Foxcatcher" and his HBO role in "The Normal Heart". PinMart's contribution to the night was seen in the form of one of their stock lapel pins, the instantly recognizable "thumbs up" Siskel and Ebert were famous for.
The small gold plated thumbs up lapel pins were attached to cards that went out to 400 attendees in the form of an invitation. The money raised by these tickets will go towards the costs of running the center and of showing the wide range of diverse and world renown films that has made the Gene Siskel Film Center a bastian of cultural and creative excellence for over 40 years.
Honoree Mark Ruffalo also received one of the pieces at the June 6th event, along with the evening's award. He joins past recipients Morgan Freeman, William H. Macy, and Reese Witherspoon, to name but a few. PinMart employee Cheri Dominelli, who facilitated the donation of the lapel pins, pointed out "We're a Chicago-based company, so we're very familiar with Gene Siskel, and thought the donation would be a perfect gesture to honor him."
