Increased Productivity and Sustainable Management on the Agenda at Global Forestry Conference
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada (PRWEB) June 11, 2015 -- Resource managers and planners from, New Zealand, Australia, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Latvia, Ireland, Canada and the United States attended the Remsoft International Modeling Conference event held last week in Canada’s East Coast. The focus of the event was to discuss how they are using Remsoft data analytics and modeling solutions to provide insights and intelligence to improve asset performance, sustainability, and operational efficiency. In attendance were representatives from some of the world’s largest forestry companies, consultants, timber investment management organizations, governments and universities.
“This is the only event of its kind”, says Remsoft VP, Forestry Doug Jones, “We bring together people who are committed to sustainable planning and who count on our company to provide them with the solutions and expertise to help them connect the dots between best laid plans and on the ground actions.”
A common theme within the conference was integrated planning between the longer term strategic direction of their forests to short-term on the ground supply chain planning. This included presentations from several of the international attendees including Latvijas Valsts Mezi who manages the state owned forests of Latvia, Nelson Forest Ltd. in New Zealand, and Coillte, managers of Ireland’s state forests. These presentations focused on the benefits of full lifecycle planning from operational to strategic and how Remsoft is used to help connect their business objectives to their operational activities.
