Neptune Benson Develops Innovative, Low Maintenance Strainer for UV Disinfection Systems
Coventry, RI (PRWEB) June 12, 2015 -- Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems play an important role in disinfecting water in recreational applications. The systems use ultraviolet light, emitted from medium pressure lamps, to deactivate harmful organisms and pathogens from the water.
Most UV systems for recreational water use are provided with an inline strainer after the UV system. This strainer prevents quartz fragments from entering the aquatic venue (pool, spa, etc.) in the unlikely event that quartz sleeves become damaged. The EZ Strainer is unique as it does not require removal to be cleaned while providing protection for patrons. All other strainers require manual removal to clean and maintain them. Operators simply unlock and turn the handle (manual model) to clear fine debris from the strainer.
“The beauty of this product is in its simplicity,” said Paul Nehlen III, Senior VP of Operations and Engineering at Neptune Benson. “It was designed for a specific job and does it extremely well, while at the same time providing reduced maintenance costs vs traditional UV strainers.”
“The EZ Strainer is an example of how Neptune Benson goes beyond providing the best filtration and disinfection products.” added Ron George, VP-of Business Development at Neptune Benson. “Our goal with the EZ Strainer is to also provide ease of use and peace of mind.”
The EZ Strainer is available in three models: Manual Control, Electric Actuator Control or Pneumatic Actuator Control. The strainers will begin shipping with Neptune Benson’s ETS-UV products on June 9th and will be available for retrofit of already installed systems.
