Orlando, FL (PRWEB) June 16, 2015
The release of the world’s first no-glasses 3D LED Display at Infocomm in Orlando, FL, June 17-19, realizes a goal set by Dimenco and Leyard at the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, in January 2015. At that time, Dimenco announced that they had signed a Technology License Agreement with Leyard Photoelectronics Co. LTD, the world’s largest LED wall manufacturer, to develop and launch the first No-Glasses 3D LED wall.
This groundbreaking product combines Leyard’s high-resolution LED panels with Dimenco’s No-Glasses 3D technology, resulting in the best quality large-scale 3D screen available. Adding no-glasses 3D to LEDs will transform both markets. Viewers will be able to experience 3D signage on an unprecedented scale in multiple venues, both indoors and outdoors. The new product optimizes advertising, sports and entertainment applications. The first No-Glasses 3D LED Wall that Dimenco and Leyard will be manufacturing and offering at Infocomm is 108”. This product is based on Leyard’s current 1.25 mm LED panels, and is expected to be commercially available by Q4 2015.
Dimenco’s No-Glasses 3D Technology is based on applying an advanced optical layer in front of the LED screen to send different information to each eye, thereby creating a 3D perception. In addition to the application of this optical layer, the most skillfully designed proprietary image processing is required to provide an optimal 3D picture. Until now, 3D auto-stereoscopic (No-Glasses) displays were always manufactured in small sizes, limited by the availability of larger LCD panels. The new joint product eliminates all previous size restrictions and makes No-Glasses 3D available on a scale previously unimaginable.
Both Dimenco and Leyard are confident that their joint production effort will bring a unique, world-class, No-Glasses 3D product to the LED display market. “For us to be part of Dimenco’s team will contribute to the ultimate LED 3D experience, ”said Mr. Li, Chairman and CEO of Leyard. “They have proven themselves to be the leading 3D technology company in the LCD industry.”
No-Glasses 3D LED Technology marks the start of masterful innovation to come from this joint effort.
In conjunction with the Technology License Agreement signed in January, Leyard acquired an equity position in Dimenco. Leyard’s capital investment is being used by Dimenco entirely for technology development. “Dimenco is excited to work with the world-leading LED company,” said Maarten Tobias, CEO of Dimenco. “In addition, the trust that Leyard has in our company has been demonstrated by investing in Dimenco to help us realize our ambition to introduce No-Glasses 3D to anyone, everywhere, and on any device.”
At Infocomm 2015, in addition to the LED, Dimenco will be introducing a 65” QFHD/UD/4K LCD display (3840 x 2160 pixels) from its most recent line of professional displays. The unsurpassed picture quality of Dimenco Displays are enabled by Dimenco Nabla, a unique combination of lens design and image processing and Dimenco Clear View (DCV), which is a patented lenticular lens manufacturing and bonding process. The demos on this display will include an innovative, interactive experience created specifically for Dimenco’s displays, which leverages the compelling power of real-time 3D rendering visualized in No-Glasses 3D. Controllable by many input devices including Kinect and VR, this interactivity can be customized for numerous applications including retail, entertainment, and hospitality. Adding interactivity to No-Glasses 3D engages viewers, creates a memorable and impactful 3D encounter unencumbered by wearable technology, and powerfully demonstrates the true versatility of Dimenco Displays.
