RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California (PRWEB) June 15, 2015 -- New Creation Behavioral Healthcare Foundation, in conjunction with His House Treatment Center in Upland, California, and New Creation Treatment Center in Reche Canyon, California will offer a presentation on the role of addiction in families. During their quarterly networking luncheon on Wednesday, June 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Licensed marriage and family therapist Susan Jackson will speak on “The Seven Realities of the Addictive Family.” This is an event where professionals in the behavioral health industry can earn continuing education credit by participating in the event. To RSVP, contact events(at)hishousenewcreation(dot)com or call (909) 243-7321.
“This is a valuable opportunity for people who work in the field of behavioral health,” said Glenn Swanson, CEO of New Creation Behavioral Healthcare Foundation. “We are excited to be offering this information to the community, particularly because the disease of addiction affects so many families. The more information we can provide, the better. Addiction affects thousands of people, crossing every line of economics, ethnicity, spiritual beliefs and age. We want to help people who care for substance abusers and their families understand the dynamics of the problem, and even more importantly, the solution.”
In her new book titled The Family Scrimmage: An Introduction to the Seven Realities of the Addictive Family, Jackson explains the family dynamics that occur when one or more family members suffer from the disease of addiction. Behavioral health care providers will have the opportunity to interact with Jackson at the luncheon as she shares her findings about ways families can fall apart when the chaos of addiction takes over. She also will discuss ways addicts and their families can work together to heal from emotional suffering.
Jackson has worked in the field of addiction for nearly 30 years. Her experience includes working for the city of Chino as a gang interventionist and family therapist specializing with adolescent substance abusers and their families. She also has worked with the chemical dependency programs at San Antonio Community Hospital and Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center. Susan currently works as the Clinical Director for His House / New Creation Residential Treatment Centers and oversees the clinical staff at all facilities. Her book can be ordered online at SevenRealities.com, HisHouseRehab.com and NewCreationDetox.com or by e-mailing sales(at)hishousenewcreation(dot)com.
