G2 Crowd publishes Summer 2015 rankings of the best business intelligence platforms, based on user reviews
CHICAGO (PRWEB) June 16, 2015 -- The updated Grid℠ report for business intelligence tools (BI tools), published today by business software review platform G2 Crowd, ranks 20 products to help purchasers in their selections.
The Grid℠ was created from G2 Crowd’s software review platform, which compiles customer satisfaction as reported by users, along with vendor market presence as determined from public and social data, to rank products.
The Summer 2015 report is based on data from more than 500 reviews written by business and data professionals.
Business intelligence software helps companies gain perspective on their business operations by leveraging data from any internal sources that detail business activity and its results. BI software often creates automated reports and dashboards that can be deployed to end users, as well as non-technical user interfaces for business users to analyze data.
Of the more than 120 products vendors listed in G2 Crowd’s Business Intelligence category, the 20 ranked products each received 10 or more reviews to qualify for inclusion on the Grid℠.
To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. Oracle BI, Tableau Desktop, Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire and QlikView were named Leaders. High Performers have high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence than Leaders. GoodData, Domo, InsightSquared, Alteryx, Looker, Chartio, and Phocas Software were named High Performers. InsightSquared earned the highest overall customer satisfaction score.
Across all BI tools, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 84%, and on average reviewers said they were 83% likely to recommend the product they use. Products appearing on the BI Grid℠ for the first time were InsightSquared, Looker, Phocas Software, Domo, Microsoft Power BI and Logi Analytics.
Ease of use seemed to be a defining characteristic for products in the category. While there were a range of scores across most satisfaction areas, 11 out of 12 Leaders and High Performers scored above average for Ease of Use, whereas products achieved Contender or Niche status scored consistently low for ease of use.
