Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth (GPT), a charitable nonprofit promoting the establishment of telemedicine programs in communities throughout Georgia, announces the offering of telehealth training through three unique web-based telemedicine certification courses through the National School of Applied Telehealth (NSAT). NSAT was formed as part of an educational outreach program between GPT, the Southeastern Telehealth Resource Center, HomeTown Health University, and the California Telehealth Resource Center.
These courses prepare individuals to become valuable members of their telehealth team. NSAT delivers standardized, affordable telehealth instruction and is accredited through IACET authorized provider HomeTown Health, LLC, to offer 0.3 continuing education credits (CEUs) upon satisfactory course completion.
The specialty courses include:
- Certified Telemedicine Clinical Presenter – During the course students gain the insights and skills to correctly and confidently present patients during virtual encounters with healthcare providers and specialists.
- Certified Telehealth Coordinator – Students learn how to successfully implement, coordinate and manage a telehealth program.
- Certified Telehealth Liaison – A course designed for students to gain insights and confidence to successfully serve as a leader, promoter and marketer within the telehealth industry.
“GPT is proud to contribute to the curriculums for these comprehensive certification courses,” said Sherrie Williams, executive director of GPT. “There is a need for more telehealth professionals right now and that need is only going to increase as new technology and awareness of telemedicine’s effectiveness continues to grow. We are confident that these courses will adequately prepare students for a career in a telemedicine support role.”
