Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- More than 500 students and faculty from around the world will travel to Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) this July as part of the university’s fourth annual ArtFest and Vacation English Immersion (VEI) courses. ArtFest15 and VEI programs run July 9–29 on the SFUAD campus and provide art and English workshops and other cultural activities for college-age students and high school juniors and seniors. Participants hail from the U.S., Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Spain, and for the first time, China.
Along with its returning workshops in film, photography, ceramics and other fields, ArtFest15 will present a number of new offerings this year, including Interior Design: Revisioning to NOW; A to Z of Movie Making; Wisdom of the Streets: Street Art; and Landscape Photography.
“We are excited to offer a new group of international students the chance to study in the U.S. for the summer and be immersed in the artistic culture of Santa Fe and the state of New Mexico,” said Radi Simeonova, on-campus director of ArtFest15. “These students will connect with new friends from a global creative community while participating in multi-disciplinary workshops.”
High school juniors and seniors may also attend ArtFest15 from July 9–14 through one of three shorter workshops in digital arts, film or photography. These workshops are designed to give high school students a chance to experience the academic rigor, creative expansion, and challenging nature of higher education.
Cultural immersion activities for all participants, incorporated into ArtFest15 and VEI workshops at no additional cost, include concerts, museum tours, and nature hikes in Santa Fe and surrounding communities. These activities also include trips to Bandelier National Park, Taos Pueblo, Tent Rocks, Ghost Ranch and other excursions.
