New program designed to help autistic children find friends opens in Las Vegas
(PRWEB) June 19, 2015 -- SpectrumConnects is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that no one lives life alone. Their goal is to assist children living on the autism spectrum in finding and connecting with potential friends. Many children and teens diagnosed with autism struggle to find and make friends. By connect kids with similar interests, geographical location, and abilities, SpectrumConnects works to establish healthy and lasting friendships . This is the only resource available in Las Vegas to solve this huge need!
SpectrumConnects launched on May 28th, 2015 and has been growing rapidly with interest and attention from families and organizations within the Las Vegas Autism Community.
To participate in the program, simply go to SpectrumConnects.org to apply. Once your application is received SpectrumConnects will begin searching for the best possible match for your child. When SpectrumConnects finds a match, SpectrumConnects' personnel will reach out to arrange a Sport-Social supervised meet-up. During the meet-up, families of the matched children will have an opportunity to get to know each other as well. If the meet-up was a positive experience for both the kids and their families, a second meet-up will be arranged either at Sport-Social or any other place the parents agree. If the match wasn't quite right, the children can be placed back into the pool to make more new friends.
