New On-Demand Presentation from SAE International Identifies Automotive Lightweighting Solutions
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- SAE International offers a free, on-demand presentation that identifies key issues and optimum solutions to finding the most affordable, efficient lightweight composite solutions to meet fuel efficiency and emissions targets.
The adaptation of lighter weight materials brings challenges to every step of the manufacturing process from design through production. Plastics, aluminum, and carbon fiber each require special consideration that is different than the steel and sheet metal that automakers have relied upon for more than a century.
“Mass Reduction for Mass Production,” is a 20-minute program sponsored by Dow that will show how VORAFORCE™ structural composites enable weight reduction, parts integration, and efficiencies in materials and processing. Participants will have the opportunity to ask the expert speaker questions.
Speaker for the event is Peter Cate, Associate Marketing Director, New Business Platforms, Dow Automotive Systems. Mr. Cate’s responsibilities include analysis of significant new business platforms and recommendation for priority opportunities as well as leading selected new business platforms through development and implementation.
